Oh, When The Saints Go Marching In is one of my favorite songs. You’ve probably heard it!
But what does it mean “How I want to be in that number when the saints go marching in?” When we think of saints, we think of someone who’s holy, special, and highlighted in our faith circle. I like a better word that is original and that’s Άγιος defined as other-than-worldly / holy / set apart.
None of us want to die and be outside of the grace of God, so we have to be fully in Christ while we’re alive. So when do we start becoming Άγιος? The answer is: now, here, in this environment, in this realm!
So let’s think about every decision we make in life and let’s place it up agains Άγιος. Is what I’m doing setting me up for God’s kingdom? Or do I love the material things more than the heavenly things? We have to think in this way because we can’t become Άγιος if we don’t.
What is that mindset? Total love for God. 100% faith.
